Are you passionate about improving the lives of bereaved people?
Herefordshire Cruse are looking to recruit volunteers to join them in supporting those within the local community.
You don’t need to hold any specific qualifications as training is provided.
What you do need is to be a good listener, resilient, empathetic and supportive. You need to be comfortable talking about death and grief and accept people as individuals.
There’s opportunities for ongoing training activities and to learn new skills once you have qualified. You will have the support of a Supervisor and regular supervision sessions. Plus you have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of services for clients within Herefordshire.
The training necessary for this role includes 4 x 4 hour core webinars and a variety of other training modules (including telephone support, trauma and self-care) plus the preparation and submission of coursework for our externally accredited Foundation Course.
It usually takes around 3 months in between submitting an application and completing the course. Once you start taking on clients you can typically spend between 2-3 hours per week volunteering. Currently support is offered to clients via telephone and Zoom, with some face to face sessions.
To find out more – come along to one of our Information Evening Webinars held via Zoom. Further details, including application forms, available from email@example.com
